Sailability Gold Coast
Freedom on the water, regardless of ability

Sailability Gold Coast is based at Southport Yacht Club, Sailing Squadron at 1 Marina Ct, Hollywell, and we sail between SYC Hollywell and Crab Island on the Southport Broadwater.

Volunteers are always required & sailing experience is not a must.  There are multiple tasks required to assist people with disabilities to sail. Come down and see us.  You will find volunteering with Sailability an enriching experience and very good fun as well.

The principle aim of Sailability Gold Coast is to facilitate sailing and boating activities, in all forms, for people with disabilities. The sport of sailing has given added meaning to the words freedom and fun for a person with diminished capabilities be they physical, intellectual or both. This is the experience we hope to give to all persons regardless of their ability. Our program encourages people to sail solo in our dinghies or as a crew member on our yachts.

We achieve this through social and recreational sailing every Tuesday, starting at 0930, and with the fostering of sailing in open competition.

Sometimes due to bad weather, sailing can be cancelled, so be sure to ring 0405 199 934 to check.  If there is no sailing, volunteers will be present to allow you to use the facilities.

Please browse through our site to see how much fun we have and learn how we can help you or your relative/friend with a disability to enjoy a new challenge.
